About the Role: You'll contribute to Valo's biological data engineering capabilities, transforming data from various sources into analysis-ready products. You will work closely with data engineers and data scientists.
Responsibilities:
- Develop data transformation pipelines
- Harmonize data into Valo's data ecosystems
- Contribute to data source backend for knowledge graphs
- Develop visualization and data extraction tools for knowledge graphs
- Follow agile development methodologies
- Ensure data quality through testing (unit tests, validation tests, code reviews)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's + 2 years experience or recent Master's in relevant fields (e.g., Computer Science, Bioinformatics)
- Familiarity with large-scale biological data types (e.g., genomics)
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake)
- Knowledge of cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP)
- Understanding of data engineering best practices and testing methodologies
