Contractor Data Science Expert

Mercor is hiring experienced Data Science professionals to support high-impact research collaborations with leading AI labs. Freelancers will help improve AI systems through code validation, prompt refinement, algorithmic evaluation, and model benchmarking.

• Review and refine AI-generated prompts, responses, and code
• Validate concepts for technical accuracy
• Provide structured feedback on solution quality and clarity
• Tag and organize content by topic and difficulty
• Support benchmarking efforts to assess model capabilities

• 3+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied statistics (industry or research)
• Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (Bachelor’s minimum; advanced degree preferred)
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with R, Java, or Scala is a plus
• Hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning models using frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Experience with statistical analysis, data wrangling, and feature engineering on large datasets

• Start Date: Immediate
• Duration: 1–2 months
• Commitment: Part-time (15–25 hours/week, with flexibility up to 40 hours/week)
• Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous – flexible working hours

• Competitive hourly rate based on experience ($70–$120 USD/hr)
