Kitman Labs is the performance intelligence company, disrupting and transforming the way the sports industry uses data to unlock the potential of the world’s top athletes. We have assembled a team of data scientists, sports performance scientists, product and software designers and engineers. Our Intelligence Platform (iP) is used by over 2000 teams. We're looking for an experienced Data Scientist!
Our mission is to turn data (GPS metrics, injury records, event data, etc.) into meaningful insights that empower teams and athletes to perform at their best. We're looking for a data-savvy team player to help us build and evolve our Intelligence Platform. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product, and Performance Science teams to develop practical solutions to data challenges, and conduct R&D for new product features.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and operationalise analytics concepts.
- Contribute to making data science a game changer in elite sport.
- Expand and improve our Intelligence Platform.
- Build pipelines and models that integrate seamlessly with our existing infrastructure.
- Contribute to performance dashboards, reports, and insights for coaches and clients.
- Present your work frequently.
Experience & Skills:
- 3–5 years of industry experience in a data science role.
- Strong programming skills, especially Python.
- Experience building models and analytical pipelines.
- Solid understanding of machine learning/statistical theory.
- Familiarity with deploying models in production environments.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work with internal and external teams.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in a relevant field.
Additional Qualities:
- Experience with large datasets and tools like Pandas, Scikit-Learn.
- Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) a plus.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to form relationships across teams.
- Experience with professional sport or defense data a plus.
