Location: Pleasanton, CA 94588 (Fully Remote - Must work in PST hours)
Duration: 5+ Months (High possibility to extend)
Education Required: Master’s Degree or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years in data science or related roles
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with extensive experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science methodologies, be proficient in relevant programming languages, and possess advanced problem-solving skills. This role requires the ability to work independently in a fully remote setting while adhering to PST working hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement complex data models and machine learning algorithms.
- Create and manage data architectures to support analytical and operational processes.
- Utilize statistical programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) to analyze large datasets and generate actionable insights.
- Design and execute advanced statistical techniques, including regression, clustering, and decision trees.
- Analyze data from various third-party providers and integrate findings into comprehensive reports.
- Visualize data and present findings to stakeholders using tools such as Periscope, Business Objects, D3, and ggplot.
- Support ongoing data science initiatives and provide actionable recommendations for business improvements.
Top Skills Required:
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in statistical and data mining techniques, such as GLM Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, and text mining.
- Programming: Strong knowledge of programming languages including Python, R, SQL, and familiarity with Java, C++, and JavaScript.
- Machine Learning: Experience with machine learning techniques such as clustering, neural networks, regression, and decision trees.
- Data Architecture: Ability to design and work with complex data architectures and large datasets.
