Full-Time Delay Expert - Construction Disputes Resolution

J.S. Held is seeking a Delay Expert for its Construction Advisory Team, specializing in claims and dispute resolution in the engineering and construction environment, based in Miami, Florida.

This is a senior-level position requiring credible experience in construction expert services.

Responsibilities:

• Construction dispute resolution
• Litigation support and expert witness testimony
• Claims assessment
• Schedule analysis
• Contractual/technical analysis
• Client interaction & presentations
• Data research, management, and analysis
• Travel (potentially at short notice)
• Expert witness work (named expert or support)
• Experience in writing expert reports, project development, claims preparation, review, contract management, changes in scope, schedule management, negotiations.
• Business development through networking and marketing

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in quantity surveying, construction management, engineering, or similar from a leading university
• Post-graduate qualification in construction law (desirable, not essential)
• Minimum 8-10 years' experience with engineering/construction firms or construction claim/dispute firms
• Expert witness experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with Primavera P6, MS Project, Microsoft applications
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
• Professionalism and client-facing ability
• Strong technical underpinning in project planning
• Relationship building and interpersonal skills
• Flexible approach to work
• Understanding of project-based work demands, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Personal responsibility for work quality
• Fluency in English and Spanish (ideal)
