We are seeking a Deployment Engineering Lead to join our Computational Agronomy Department at Syngenta. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation at the intersection of agriculture and technology, directly impacting global food production.
As the Deployment Engineering Lead, you will transform complex agronomic models into scalable, production-ready digital solutions, shape our technological roadmap, and lead a team of skilled engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a cross-functional engineering team.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements.
- Collaborate with DevOps, data scientists, and agronomists.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Design, build, and maintain model-serving APIs and services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including significant experience in backend development using Python (e.g., FastAPI).
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, ECS/EKS), Kubernetes, and containerized environments
- Proven track record in deploying and maintaining machine learning models and microservice-based architectures in production environments
- 3+ years of experience leading small engineering teams.
- Experience in Agile methodologies.
