Role Description:The Senior Associate Director/Deputy Head of Rails will support the Head of rails and EC senior management in delivery and operations, and build the India team. This includes interviewing, selecting, and onboarding candidates. Lead the team supporting Rail projects. This is a senior role within AECOM requiring strong technical understanding of the Rail sector, great leadership ability, and gaining client trust.
Roles and Responsibilities:Develops technical solutions to problems under general direction. Independently determines solution approaches. Experience in Rail Market (overall, UK, UAE, US, Canada, Middle East preferred). Knowledge of rail design services, regulations, and standards.
Works independently, taking overall responsibility and accountability for assigned work. A team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Makes decisions, acts proactively, and collaborates with senior management to formulate strategy for Business Continuity. Enhances communication between businesses, support functions, and management. Implements important policies and processes, acts as an interface between support functions and business, and implements efficient processes.
Oversees the adoption of new technology solutions and reports performance and issues to senior management, suggesting improvements.
Requirements:Builds consensus and relationships among business leads, management, and employees. Possesses excellent communication and influencing skills, is good in business negotiation and people management. Demonstrates strong managerial acumen and familiarity with business administration principles. Prioritizes and delegates tasks, introduces new processes and improves existing ones. A strong leader with stress tolerance.
Qualifications: Master of Engineering (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline. Applicants must have more than 15 years of experience in Civil Engineering with UK/Middle East/US experience (desirable but not essential). Can see the "bigger picture," works to deadlines under pressure, is accountable for assigned work, and demonstrates accuracy, precision, a willingness to learn, strong problem-solving skills, enthusiasm, and self-motivation.
