MISSION: As a direct report to the Country Manager, the Development Manager will coordinate and ensure successful project development for wind, solar, and storage projects from origination to permitting and financing. The role will focus on solar, wind, and storage, but may involve other technologies as opportunities arise.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND DELIVERABLES:
- Manage utility-scale solar, wind, and storage projects
- Secure new opportunities and negotiate agreements with landowners, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and asset agreements
- Establish, monitor, and update business plans, development budgets, and schedules
- Coordinate and oversee permit authorizations (grid, environmental, etc.) for local regulations
- Engage with communities, conduct public meetings and presentations
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of local development processes and electric regulations
- Develop and maintain strong relations with local institutions
- Act as Legal Representative for project Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) if required
- Contribute to improving internal development tools
- Perform other duties as assigned
PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Engineer or Master's degree with a preference for electric, electro-mechanical, industrial, or energy-related backgrounds. Minimum of eight years of energy development experience, preferably in renewables. Deep understanding of development processes and relevant institutions (CEN, CNE, SEC, etc.) in Chile. Strong knowledge of public and private PPA markets.
PERSONAL SKILLS:
- Dynamism and autonomy
- Proven ability to collaborate and manage multidisciplinary teams
- Proven track record in project management in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills for management, client, and public presentations
- Willingness and ability to travel monthly
SOFTWARE SKILLS (appreciated but not essential):
- Experienced user of PVsyst, pvDesign, OpenWind, or similar industry software
- Proficient in GIS
- Proficient in the Google and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
LANGUAGES: Spanish and English. Fluent French is a plus.
