Altruistiq is building a sustainability operating system to support the world’s largest consumer companies on their impact journey. We are growing fast, work with some of the best known brands in the world, and are a global organization with a fully remote team based in over a dozen countries and we're looking for a DevOps engineer to help extend and scale up our platform.

The candidate we're looking for:

  • You are a DevOps / Platform Engineer with a track record of designing architecture and deploying highly performant and scalable infrastructure on AWS.
  • Preferably you’re AWS certified and you likely have a background as a software engineer.
  • You’re based in EU timezone and looking for a full-time remote position in an exciting engineering culture that is making a positive impact in the world.

As a DevOps, you will:

  • Join our infra platform squad, working closely with other engineers and lead developers, on epics and features that will have a real impact on the world.
  • Have heavy involvement within the architectural decisions and work closely with the software engineering team to ensure the successful deployment and scaling of our systems.
  • Play a pivotal role in the overall success of our projects, contributing to its end-to-end design, implementation, and support.
  • Have a lot of ownership over how you execute work, because we follow a practice of “you build it, you own it”.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the software development team and other stakeholders to understand the system requirements and devise effective solutions.
  • Continually improving our infrastructure for better scalability, security, and fault tolerance.
  • Implementing CI/CD (GitHub Actions) for automated deployment of our products.
  • Building, and maintaining our AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Working with event-driven systems.
  • Working with APIs written in python and typescript.
  • Working with microservices.
  • Managing Postgres database cluster within RDS.
  • Managing Opensearch Clusters.
  • Working with AWS services such as ECS, SQS, SNS, Lambda, and Cloudwatch.
  • Documenting all processes and best practices in an easily understandable format.
  • Collaborate to build a fun culture of engineering excellence that executes quickly and safely through fast iteration, clean code, and high-quality development.
  • Actively contribute to fighting climate change and make the world a better place.

Skills Required:

  • Good grasp of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like ECS/docker-compose.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of network protocols and security within AWS (VPC and IAM).
  • Excellent knowledge of Terraform within AWS.
  • Good understanding of event-driven systems (SQS, SNS).
  • Excellent understanding of system design.
  • Knowledge of Python and Typescript/Javascript
  • Experience in B2B based companies
