Your Role as a DevOps Engineer: Our DevOps team seeks a passionate DevOps Engineer to meet and exceed customer, engineering, and customer care needs. The ideal candidate will solve unexpected issues, identify root causes, and resolve problems. They will be proactive in finding solutions, seeking out automation opportunities, and implementing them. The role requires understanding DevOps best practices, experience automating infrastructure deployments, systems administration, high availability, and web technologies.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain compute and container instances.
- Monitor system performance, analyze problems, and resolve issues to prevent customer impact.
- Ensure compliance with security standards.
- Assist in building, testing, integrating, and deploying software using DevOps best practices.
- Automate deployments and processes using languages like Python.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and other teams to integrate technologies.
- Maintain the health of development, staging, and production systems.
- Troubleshoot system and software issues, identifying root causes.
- Implement solutions in development, QA, staging, and production environments.
- Maintain and utilize build and deployment automation infrastructure.
- Document processes and protocols.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong Linux background, Windows experience preferred.
- Automation, configuration management, and Infrastructure as Code (HashiCorp experience a plus).
- Scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, NodeJS, Bash).
- Troubleshooting and process workflow analysis.
- Experience with MySQL & MongoDB.
- Message brokering systems (RabbitMQ).
- Microservices and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Flexibility for remote meetings.
- Build pipeline tools and Atlassian suite.
- Monitoring and alerting platforms (StackDriver).
- Cloud provider experience (Google Cloud Platform, AWS).
- Lifelong learning and a desire to become expert in new technologies.
