Position Overview
Avero is currently looking for a DevOps Engineer for our Product Operations team who will be responsible for working collaboratively with the engineering team to deploy and operate our systems. Your primary focus will be to automate and streamline operations and processes, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations, and troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, staging and production environments. Candidates must demonstrate strong technical knowledge with a passion for service.

What You'll Do
Build and maintain Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure (as code) including, but not limited to:
- Compute – EC2, ECS, Lambda
- Storage – S3, EFS, Glacier, Storage Gateway
- Database – RDS, RedShift
- Networking – VPC, Route 53
- Management – CloudWatch, Auto Scaling
- Analytics – EMR, Elasticsearch
- Security – IAM, Certificate Manager
- Application Integration/Messaging – SES, SNS, SQS
- FTP/FTPS/SFTP Servers
- HTTP Servers – Apache, Tomcat
- Oracle Enterprise Database
- Oracle WebLogic
- SAP Business Objects
- Custom HTTP file servers
- Internal APIs
- Data warehouse loading and maintenance scripts
- Custom monitoring and alerting solutions
Design and implement monitoring and alerting systems.
Explore, implement, and test new technologies. Participate in on-call pager rotation.
Champion operational excellence, actively participating in the process of development and continuous improvement.
Provide technical support to your team members, take ownership of your work, and always be learning.
Participate in code reviews, defining and refining your team’s process.
What You'll Need
5+ years of experience in DevOps and/or Systems Administration.
Strong understanding of the core concepts of DevOps, microservices, systems administration, and monitoring/alerting.
Required experience with the below:
Languages – Python, Java, Shell Scripting
Infrastructure Tools – Terraform, Chef
Container Infrastructure – Docker and Docker Compose, ECS
Databases – MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server
Elastic Stack – Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana
Source Control – Git and Bitbucket
Linux administration (Ubuntu, Fedora, and/or Amazon Linux)
You do not need to be an expert in everything but should have a significant overlap with our existing technology stack. We can help you ramp up where there are gaps.

Possible salary: $115,000 - $120,000 for Colorado; varies by location
