Overview of Role: Binti is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to help build and maintain a robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient and reliable systems.
Location: Binti is headquartered in Oakland, California. Our team is primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area, working via a hybrid setup (in-person and remote).
What you will do:
- Design and implement infrastructure as code using Pulumi and TypeScript
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters (GKE)
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using BuildKite
- Set up and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (Honeycomb and Google Cloud Logging)
- Collaborate with development teams
- Plan and execute infrastructure scaling strategies
- Optimize cloud resource usage
- Develop and test disaster recovery procedures
- Automate repetitive tasks
- Document infrastructure configurations
- Stay up-to-date with DevOps technologies
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with infrastructure as code (ideally Pulumi)
- Proficiency in TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker)
- Experience with CI/CD tools (BuildKite, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI)
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools
- Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- On-call participation during working hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with selected technologies and services: Pulumi, GKE, TypeScript, BuildKite, Honeycomb
- Experience implementing security best practices
- Experience with database management and optimization
- Experience scaling Ruby on Rails applications
- Scripting skills in Ruby, Python, and Bash
