Full-Time DevOps Engineer

For our client in the insurance industry in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced and motivated DevOps Engineer - Java.

A global team is seeking a motivated individual to join a project focused on Output Management Services, utilizing cloud computing technologies to optimize processes and enhance operational efficiency.

The role involves:

• Working on technical and infrastructure migration projects
• Developing innovative solutions
• Expanding knowledge in DevOps

Your task:

• Participate in the design and development of a cloud-based solution for Output Management
• Write efficient and maintainable Java code to implement software solutions based on design specifications
• Perform coding, debugging, and testing of Java applications
• Enforce automation in building, testing, and deploying applications to achieve CI/CD goals
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration, deployment, and delivery of solutions
• Support agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Use testing tools and participate in testing activities to ensure software quality and reliability
• Document code, design decisions, and configurations for future reference
• Ensure documentation is kept up to date with changes made to the software
• Provide third-level support for customers in alignment with the Output Management team
• Integrate and manage system interdependencies to ensure seamless functionality across all components

Your profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in Java programming and application architecture design
• Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and tools
• Minimum three years of development experience, preferably in JEE
• Familiar with Linux
• Camunda experience is a plus
• Experience with CI/CD processes and testing tools
• Knowledge of SmartCOMM is a big plus
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, especially Scrum or Kanban
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in a complex environment
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and maintain collaboration
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal
