IGS is seeking a remote DevOps Engineer to support our work with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Responsibilities:
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Argo. Automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning.
- Monitoring & Observability: Set up and manage monitoring tools such as Datadog, Jaeger, Kiali, and Dynatrace.
- Cloud & Application Deployment: Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or on-premises servers.
- DevSecOps Integration: Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines. Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, and Helm.
- Service Mesh & Developer Experience: Integrate Istio for service mesh capabilities and maintain developer portals using Backstage.io.
- Align with and support VA Lighthouse technical infrastructure, tools, and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer science or a related field
- 4+ years’ experience in software development, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
- Strong proficiency with GitHub, including Packages, Releases, and repository management.
- Hands-on experience with containerization, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architecture.
- Expertise in AWS services and infrastructure design.
- Experience with Istio, Helm, and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with CodeClimate, Datadog, Jaeger, Kiali, and Dynatrace.
- Knowledge of federal security standards and DevSecOps practices.
