Job Details
The Director, Meeting Services is responsible for the management of team members, achieving financial objectives, leading a high volume of meetings and managing clients for logistics projects.
This role requires strategic and tactical contributions on assigned accounts, experience in various pharmaceutical meetings, and coordination with other agency teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing program logistics (venue selection, contract negotiation, travel, etc.)
- Planning live and virtual events
- Building registration websites
- Managing program recruitment and attendee management
- Reviewing meeting specifications and cost reduction
- Attending project briefings and internal meetings
- Coordinating meeting logistics with Client Services
- Reviewing invoices and tracking attendee spend reports
- Negotiating rates with vendors
- Managing budgets and advising on risks
- Identifying operational improvements
- Participating in new business pitches
- Career development and mentoring
- Reviewing department policies
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or 12 years in pharmaceutical hospitality
- Experience in live, virtual, and hybrid meetings
- Knowledge of hotel bookings and air travel
- Cvent or similar platform, Excel skills
- Ability to travel 25-30%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years in pharmaceutical meeting planning
- CMP certification
