Giga builds the electrical infrastructure that powers the modern world. We manufacture transformers, switchboards, and modular data centers for customers across the United States and the globe.
The Director of Construction will lead and oversee all pre-construction and construction activities across Giga Energy’s portfolio of data center infrastructure projects, through the full project lifecycle from pre-construction planning to final energization. This includes managing, planning, budgeting, selecting and coordinating with contractors and equipment suppliers, overseeing site execution, and ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery of high-quality work.
Responsibilities- Lead budget development and cost estimation for upcoming projects.
- Drive project planning and management using tools such as Monday.com.
- Spearhead utility coordination.
- Oversee equipment and contractor specification for network, electrical, civil, and Giga-specific systems.
- Order equipment and establish site layout in accordance with defined specifications.
- Ensure all permitting is completed in a timely manner.
- Direct construction management activities including scheduling, contractor supervision, and site logistics.
- Coordinate equipment delivery and receival.
- Manage on-site Giga crews and supervise contractor performance for MV, electrical, civil, and mechanical scopes.
- Oversee QA/QC protocols.
- Lead electric equipment management and utility interface during installation and energization.
- Interface with internal teams and clients to provide transparent and regular project updates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in construction or energy project management; experience in utilities or modular infrastructure is preferred.
- Proven experience managing complex contractor networks and large-scale procurement.
- Strong understanding of permitting, utility coordination, and QA/QC procedures.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Procore, etc.).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
