As the Director of Data Engineering, define and enforce IT policies related to cloud security, software development, and DevOps best practices for scalable, secure systems. Provide strategic support and challenge decisions through insightful questions. Understand data governance, create and maintain policies & procedures, and implement data management systems while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Simplify complex problems for organizational efficiency. Drive effective organizational change, foster strong cross-functional communication and collaboration. Lead software engineering teams in cloud-native environments, specifically Microsoft Azure. Drive the adoption of cloud best practices, microservices, and scalable architecture. Establish coding standards, best practices, and governance policies for maintainable, scalable, and secure software solutions. Optimize cloud use (Azure) for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Effectively manage remote engineers, provide technical and organizational leadership to the engineering team, and coach/mentor team members to promote professional growth.
Strong experience leading/managing a team of software engineers developing applications. Collaborate with other leaders to scale technology and the Engineering organization. Develop and manage the engineering roadmap with key stakeholders. Drive technical projects and planning.
Strong communication skills, disseminating information across the organization and possessing strategic influence. Experience with Microsoft Power Platform or Dynamics 365 (nice to have). Familiarity with Azure Databricks or PySpark (nice to have).
Minimum 7 years' experience developing production-grade systems, and 5+ years' experience managing developers and DevOps teams.
This role offers a competitive salary range of $92,000 - $180,000 (negotiable). Potentially eligible for sales incentives or performance-based bonuses. Benefits include flexible work environment, comprehensive health insurance, industry-leading parental leave, life insurance, and education support.
