Full-Time Director of Data Science

Machinify is the leading provider of AI-powered software products that transform healthcare claims and payment operations.

Each year, the healthcare industry generates over $200B in claims mispayments, creating incredible waste, friction, and frustration. Machinify's revolutionary AI platform has enabled the company to develop and deploy industry-specific products that increase the speed and accuracy of claims processing.

We are seeking a Director of Data Science. This role will lead and manage the data science team, requiring deep technical background, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Chief Data Scientist, the Director of Data Science will collaborate closely with other leaders to align engineering efforts with strategic goals.

1. Provide direction and guidance to a team of Senior and Staff Data Scientists.
2. Collaborate with leadership to define technical and business metrics.
3. Translate objectives into internal priorities.
4. Drive sprints and prioritize initiatives for customer metric improvement.
5. Hire, mentor, and develop team members.
6. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
7. Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
8. Own model success by monitoring KPIs and improving quality.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years data science experience, 5+ in leadership, including start-up experience
• Proven track record of managing data teams and delivering impactful products
• Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations and data security best practices
• Exceptional team management skills
• Strategic thinking, methodical execution, change leadership
• Strong problem-solving, data-driven mindset
• Effective communication skills, collaboration, and problem-solving with diverse groups
