Role OverviewAs the Director of Developer Community, you will build and nurture relationships within the PyTorch Foundation's project ecosystem. This role focuses on the needs of AI researchers, developers, and engineers using various PyTorch projects and tools.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with AI researchers, developers, and engineers.
- Facilitate technical discussions and knowledge sharing across diverse project communities.
- Gather and prioritize community feedback for projects.
- Support community members in using Foundation projects.
- Identify synergies between project communities.
- Evaluate and recommend new open-source projects.
- Collaborate with researchers and developers.
- Create technical documentation and learning resources.
- Represent community needs internally.
- Coordinate cross-project initiatives.
- Evaluate potential open-source projects for alignment.
- Present at industry conferences.
- Represent the Foundation at local events.
- Work with PyTorch Ambassadors to organize meetups.
- Engage in broader industry initiatives.
- Provide technical input for content and communications.
- Support the Events team in developing technical content.
- Assist Program Management in understanding community needs.
- Partner with Engineering to ensure community feedback influences development.
- Establish channels for gathering feedback.
- Analyze and synthesize community insights.
- Address technical pain points.
- Maintain open communication channels.
- Maintain technical discussion forums and community platforms.
- Support community-led technical initiatives.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years in developer relations, technical community management, or similar.
- Strong technical background in AI/ML with hands-on development experience.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
- Strong relationship-building skills within technical communities.
- Strategic thinking and project evaluation skills.
- Experience managing multiple communities or projects.
- Understanding of open-source project evaluation and growth.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Presentation skills at technical conferences.
- Experience in San Francisco Bay Area preferred.
- Availability for occasional travel.

- PyTorch or similar deep learning framework experience.

Salary $165,000 - $220,000
