Full-Time Director of Engineering, Data & AI Platforms

• Strategic & Commercial Leadership: Develop a vision for Xplor's Data and AI strategy. Champion data monetization and drive business value through analytics, ML, and Generative AI.
• Team Development & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Data team.
• Modern Data & AI Stack Architecture: Design and implement a unified data architecture. Standardize data ingestion and orchestrate data and ML pipelines.
• Data & AI Productization: Drive data product strategy from conception to launch, delivering curated data sets and deploying predictive models and AI applications.
• Financial & Performance Management: Manage the budget for the data and AI platform, managing platform costs and demonstrating ROI.
• Data Governance & Quality: Establish a data governance framework that ensures data quality, security, privacy, and compliance.
• Execution & Delivery: Lead the team in the execution of data integration, transformation, and modeling processes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with leadership, product management, and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical requirements.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or data science.
• 5+ years of experience in a formal leadership role.
• Track record of leading AI/ML and Generative AI initiatives that deliver business value.
• Expert-level knowledge of the modern data stack (Snowflake, Spark, Coalesce, dbt).
• Extensive hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
