Full-Time Director of Engineering, Foundation

We are looking for a Director of Engineering, Foundation to lead our core platform engineering team. This team develops and maintains foundational libraries, frameworks, and architectural components supporting Curinos' flagship products. Their work spans backend systems, middleware, web services, and user experience layers, enabling data-driven decision intelligence and robust product support.

This role offers a unique 50/50 blend of hands-on enterprise architecture leadership and engineering team management. You will shape the architectural direction for the firm's shared engineering assets while developing and mentoring a team of 6-10 engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of platform engineers and architects.
• Provide strategic enterprise architecture leadership.
• Partner with engineering leaders on distributed computing, data analytics, machine learning, and AI domains.
• Collaborate with Product Managers.
• Design and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable architectural patterns.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies.
• Champion engineering best practices (Agile, CI/CD, DevOps).
• Ensure foundational systems embody security, scalability, resilience, observability, and sustainability.

Desired Skills & Expertise:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years managing high-performing technical teams.
• 5+ years designing cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• 15+ years of full-stack software development experience (ideation, design, development, testing, CI/CD, deployment).
• Deep experience with numerous technology stack components (Linux/Windows Server, AWS, Databricks, Spark, SQL Server, Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis, Python, Java, JavaScript, Angular, Tableau, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven experience with RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Strategic mindset, balancing technical vision with execution.
