The Director of Finance Projects is a strategic leadership role overseeing the Finance Systems team and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations within Turnitin.
This role reports directly to the VP, Global Controller and is instrumental in driving the transformation of finance systems and processes, ensuring consistency, compliance, and scalable growth within financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Finance Transformation Leadership: Partner with the VP, Global Controller to define the future strategy for financial operations, including setting up KPIs and implementing a scalable organizational structure to support company growth.
- System and Process Transformation: Lead a transformation initiative, re-engineering finance processes and systems. Utilize experience in system and process design to inspire innovation and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Business Process Optimization: Manage the transition to optimized finance processes across the organization.
- Team Leadership: Oversee a team of subject matter experts across multiple regions, focusing on finance processes impacting customer billing. Drive team expansion and development.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the key finance contact for stakeholders across departments, ensuring seamless collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Required Experience: 10+ Years of Finance Leadership Experience in complex, global organizations, ideally with 5+ years at Director level or above. Proven expertise in managing large teams and overseeing AR finance operations on a global scale.
- 5+ Years in Finance Transformation & Project Management, leading large-scale projects with experience in system/process redesign and implementation.
- ERP and Finance System Expertise: In-depth knowledge of ERP systems and subledger management, specifically Accounts Receivable (AR). Experience evaluating and optimizing ERP workflows.
- Operational KPI Design and Reporting: Strong background in designing and implementing operational financial KPIs, monitoring performance, and developing KPI dashboards and reports.
- Proven Change Management Skills: Ability to lead organizational change and drive process improvement.
- Strong Analytical and Strategic Mindset: Identifying inefficiencies and developing innovative solutions.
- Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicating effectively at all organizational levels.
- Experience in Scaling Finance Operations: Building and adapting AR finance processes and teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required. CPA/CA qualification preferred.
