Full-Time Director, Recommendation Science

Position Overview: As part of the Media Group Decision Sciences team, the Director will be responsible for creating machine learning solutions for NBCU's video streaming services including recommender systems, streaming content predictive modeling, and MarTech. The Director will manage a team of data scientists in the design and execution of advanced analytical solutions using advanced data science methodologies (collaborative filtering, deep learning, reinforcement learning, on-line modeling). They will lead collaboration with business owners and engineers to build real-time video streaming capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Build and manage a high-performance team of data scientists.
• Lead team development of a recommendation system modeling and experimentation framework.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define priorities, approaches, and business requirements.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of professional experience in Machine Learning.
• 3+ years of team/project management experience in recommender systems, deep learning, and big data.
• Proven cross-functional partnership skills, with experience navigating complex organizations and building consensus.
• Preferred: Experience with graph-based recommendation systems and passion for media & entertainment.

Additional Requirements:

• Hybrid position (minimum 3 days/week in office).

Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible).
