We are seeking a dedicated Education Advisor/Counsellor to join our team remotely, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In this role, you will provide expert guidance and support to students:
- Conduct virtual counseling sessions to assess their educational needs and goals.
- Develop personalized education plans and provide guidance on course selection, academic programs, and career pathways.
- Assist students in understanding admission requirements, application processes, and scholarship opportunities.
- Collaborate with educational institutions to stay updated on program offerings and admission criteria.
- Organize and facilitate online workshops and webinars on topics such as study skills, time management, and career planning.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress using digital platforms.
- Provide support and resources for students facing academic challenges or personal issues impacting their education.
- Stay informed about trends in education, job market demands, and online learning opportunities.
- Participate in virtual team meetings and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field
- Previous experience in education advising or counseling, preferably in a remote or online setting
- Strong knowledge of educational systems, academic programs, and career development strategies
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with students virtually
- Proficiency in online communication tools and digital platforms for remote counseling
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle a caseload of students effectively
- Familiarity with online resources and tools for educational research and career exploration
- Counseling certification is preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational trends
