About The Team
The Horizons Team is part of CookUnity's Marketplace Zone. They explore new business models (e.g., on-demand meals, subscription boxes). This team is responsible for user experiences (frontend) and complex backends for subscription management and order processing.
The Role
We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Horizons Team. Responsibilities include driving technical excellence, mentoring engineers, and ensuring project delivery with business impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of web, mobile, and backend engineers
- Provide technical and architectural guidance
- Define and refine team processes
- Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and other stakeholders
- Hire, develop, and retain top engineering talent
- Strategically allocate resources
- Deliver high-impact projects
- Establish and oversee quality assurance processes
- Manage tech debt proactively
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years experience as an Engineering Manager
- Hands-on experience at production scale (React, TypeScript, Backend-for-Frontend APIs, Node.JS, Kotlin, Postgres/MySQL, AWS, React Native)
- Demonstrated expertise with agile methodologies
- Strong English communication skills
- Proven ability to design scalable, resilient architectures
- Track record of coaching and mentoring engineers
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in B2C marketplaces
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
