About the Team
We love engineering! As Engineering Manager, you'll collaborate with a world-class engineering team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you'll join a team with experience in companies like Chime, Twitter, Instacart, E-Trade, McKinsey, and more. We're a team of A-players, dedicated to solving big challenges.
Responsibilities
As an Engineering Manager, you'll work with our talented team to build and scale high-quality financial products.
- People & Team Management: Cultivate a high-trust environment through transparency, coaching, feedback, and data-driven insights.
- Agile & Process Management: Lead agile processes (Scrum), collaborating with Product Managers and Senior Developers to execute the roadmap.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align expectations and manage dependencies with stakeholders across the business.
- Technical Leadership: Set high quality standards by mitigating technical risks, promoting best practices, and identifying technical opportunities aligned with business goals.
Requirements
- 2+ years managing software engineers in a dynamic startup environment.
- 4+ years as a software developer with experience in modern tech stacks (distributed, serverless, microservices, cloud native).
- Proven success in building a high-performance culture and coaching developers.
- Experience with multiple agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP).
- Strong project management skills, including experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience balancing technical debt, KTLO, feature iterations, and new feature delivery.
- (Bonus) FinTech experience
- (Bonus) Experience building/managing mobile applications (React Native, Flutter, Native Mobile)

Compensation
Market range: CAD $160,000-$175,000. Location: Canada.
