Full-Time Engineering Manager Custody

This role requires being full-time onsite at our San Francisco office to support team dynamics and innovative problem-solving.

Job Summary: BitGo is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Custody organization. The role focuses on building resilient, robust services that enable customers to securely store and access their cryptocurrency, meeting global compliance requirements.

1. Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-impact engineering team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and ownership.
2. Delivery Focus: Take direct responsibility for the timely delivery and quality of the team's work.
3. Roadmap & Collaboration: Collaborate with product management, designers, and stakeholders to define and prioritize the team's roadmap. Work closely with UI/UX designers to create intuitive interfaces.
4. Platform Ownership: Take ownership of building platforms that enable internal and external developers to build secure crypto applications.
5. KPIs & Accountability: Own and drive KPIs related to development processes, product quality, and customer value.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between engineering teams and product operations, support, compliance, and business stakeholders. Align the team to company objectives and client expectations.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years professional experience as a software engineer with 2+ years in a managerial role.
• Strong desire to automate and build tools for efficient workflows.
• Strong debugging skills and understanding of complex systems.
• Proven experience in sourcing and hiring top engineering talent.
• Experience working in cross-functional and remote environments.
• Engineering degree (Computer Science or similar).
• Effective communication (written and verbal).
• Understanding of and interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with NodeJS, TypeScript, MongoDB, React, and Kafka.
• Microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications.
• Containers and Kubernetes.
• Financial industry experience.
• Familiarity with digital wallets and ledgering.

Compensation:

Depending on location and level, compensation ranges from $180,000 to $240,000 USD base salary. Equity, annual bonuses, and benefits are included.
