Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

• Refine engineering roadmap, drive operational excellence, and establish tech strategy.
• Lead a team of Engineers, ensuring quality execution, timely delivery, and team member growth.
• Mentor and advise team members, providing coaching and feedback.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to define product investments, ensuring alignment between product plans, team capacity, and technical realities.
• Collaborate with other engineering managers, product management, and HR to drive team growth and retention.
• Take ownership of team performance, growth planning, recruiting, and performance management.

Technical Skills Required:

• Proven experience managing, mentoring, and growing distributed teams.
• Real-world experience building complex distributed systems, primarily in Go, though other languages are learnable.
• Emphasis on code quality and robust test infrastructure.
• Prioritization of end-user experience and business value over trendy technologies.
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (concurrency, algorithms, data structures).

Additional Considerations:

• Bonus points for experience in applied cryptography, or an interest in blockchain technology.
• Must be creative, humble, ambitious, detail-oriented, hard-working, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action-oriented, tenacious.
