What’ll you’ll be doingWe're looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to help build and evolve services across Search, Leads, Image processing and others. These platforms play a foundational role in shaping seamless user interactions with our digital platforms, enabling positive experiences. Your work will directly influence user engagement and business growth.
Understand and share expertise in mentoring and coaching a team of engineers, ensuring standards and best practices are maintained.
Develop and support solutions delivering enhanced levels of automation and auto-remediation across our systems. Automation will be a key focus to all solutions implemented.
As an owner of key platforms, lead the architecture and design of software, performing technical analysis of requirements for work item generation and estimation. Drive the technical roadmap & architecture across the application suite.
Create Opportunity canvases and communicate the value of new initiatives, then turn them into execution plans.
Champion team developments and solutions to the wider development community at carsales.
Mentor and challenge development team with new technical skills and knowledge.
Communicate your vision of the future of key products (search engine, fraud detection, leads system, etc.)
Work with the Team Lead to define and evolve ways of working, including work stream, development tooling, code flow, and definition of done.
Mentor and coach junior team members, helping them grow.
What we are looking for?

Understand and share expertise in C#, Python, .NET core, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript and Angular/React.
Hands-on experience with tools and languages for deploying infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
Solid understanding of Microservices architecture and AWS services (e.g., Amazon OpenSearch, ECS).
Experience developing and deploying containerized applications using Docker via CI/CD tools (e.g., Github Actions).
Experience building event-based systems using queue systems (e.g., RabbitMQ).
Sound knowledge and experience on SQL, data storage, query optimization in SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, or DynamoDB.
Experience with cloud monitoring and observability tooling (e.g., Sumologic, NewRelic, Cloudwatch).
