Environmental Liabilities and Remediation Manager

We are seeking an Environmental Liabilities and Remediation Manager to provide technical guidance on environmental issues to support Syngenta activities.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage environmental remediation projects in the US/North America.
2. Provide technical expertise in minimizing environmental risks and liabilities in business transactions (divestments, decommissioning, acquisitions, construction).
3. Ensure environmental management complies with business objectives, regulations, and Syngenta requirements.
4. Manage project budgets, spend, and environmental provisions in North America.
5. Ensure compliance of provisions program with IAS37 and manage external audits.
6. Manage remediation governance processes in NA and report project status and provisions to stakeholders (management, legal, finance).
7. Develop site management strategies for cost control and liability reduction.
8. Negotiate with regulatory agencies.
9. Be an active member of the Syngenta Global Environmental Centre of Expertise.
10. Provide technical expertise on other environmental activities.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, hydrogeology, or related science.
• 15+ years of environmental management and/or remediation experience in environmental consulting, chemical manufacturing, or similar.
• Extensive management of environmental liabilities and remediation projects.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Experience managing financial aspects of large environmental projects and provisions programs.
• Experience influencing stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Technical expertise in soil and groundwater investigation, remediation, and key environmental management subjects.
• Detailed knowledge of US environmental regulations.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical and regulatory knowledge.
