Full-Time Estimator & Purchasing Manager

Our client is an established custom home builder, building new homes for sale in Denver, Washington Park, Platt Park, Bonnie Brae, and The Highlands Colorado.

We are currently growing our team and are in search of an Estimator & Purchasing Manager.

Established in June 2006, we have grown into one of the leading builders in Denver, Colorado.

Role Summary: We are actively seeking a highly experienced Estimator & Purchasing Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Set & Protect Gross Margin: Oversee the sales, pre-construction, and construction processes to achieve and protect the company’s targeted gross margin. Establish and implement a detailed estimating tool, cost variance, and schedule delay processes.
2. Complete & Accurate Construction Drawings, Material Specifications & Scopes of Work: Develop and implement a standardized "scope of work" for architectural and design drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy before client pricing. Develop and implement detailed material specifications with acceptable alternatives. Develop and implement scopes of work and job checklists for trade partners.
3. Pre-Construction Process: Participate in developing and implementing the pre-construction process. Participate in meetings with clients, architects, engineers, trade partners, and others.
4. Acquire & Evaluate Trade Partners: Recruit and negotiate with competent trade partners and material suppliers at prices that allow homes to be built within budgets. Bring in contracted costs within established guidelines. Conduct the bid process and obtain trade partner and supplier information.
5. Product Development Process: Participate in client and other meetings to develop construction drawings, materials, and methods. Recommend cost savings and effective materials/methods.
6. Interior Design, Selections & Design Center: Supervise the interior design process, assuring upgraded selections are made before construction. Assure all client alternatives are detailed and accurate in estimates.
7. Client & Trade Partner Satisfaction: Assure highest levels of client and trade partner satisfaction.
8. Leadership, Management & Accountability (LMA):Administer self-improvement programs for professional and personal development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an estimator in construction.
• Strong understanding of the construction industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of construction materials, BlueBeam, and BuilderTrend.
• English and Spanish communication skills
