Contractor Head of Accounting

The Role: Outrider seeks a skilled Head of Accounting for a 6-month contract to oversee financial operations during rapid growth. The role is crucial for accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (GAAP compliant).
• Manage month-end and quarter-end close processes, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Maintain internal controls to ensure financial integrity.
• Collaborate with COO on budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Ensure timely tax filings (sales tax, payroll tax, etc.).
• Work with cross-functional teams to streamline processes.
• Maintain and optimize financial systems (e.g., ERP, A/P software).
• Assist in preparing financial reports for investors.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Accounting, or similar role.
• 5+ years of accounting and financial management experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite) and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Ideal Qualifications:

• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience in technology, logistics, or startups.
• Experience with venture-backed companies and investor reporting.
• Experience with contract roles.
