Full-Time Head of Engineering

Your Role: Major Programme & Project Delivery is responsible for capital project delivery (excluding Minor New Works) and property transactions. This includes operating the Acquire, Create New, and Dispose processes for Housing, Training estate, and Volunteer Estate (VE) globally. Major Programmes and projects support infrastructure project development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership and oversight to engineering, safety case, and requirements teams.
• Ensures engineering and safety case deliverables meet DA and regulator standards.
• Coordinates system requirements, engineering, and safety case activities.
• Defines and secures regulatory approval for engineering, safety case, and requirements strategies, processes, and tools.
• Establishes programme nuclear baseline (AC36).
• Ensures engineering/safety case representation within commercial contracts.
• Serves as senior interface with stakeholders (Design Authority, Site Operations, Regulators).
• Leads multi-disciplinary teams for integrated design and safety case development (floating dock and shoreside infrastructure).
• Ensures delivery aligns with the Euston Safety Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Familiarity with regulators (ideally nuclear or similar high-consequence environments)
• Successful leadership and management of multi-disciplinary teams for engineering design and safety case development (ideally on major infrastructure projects)
• Significant senior engineering experience on major infrastructure projects (preferably regulated)
• Chartered Engineer with full membership of a recognised engineering institution
• Line management experience at Chief Engineer level

Desirable Skills and Experience: Marine structures/naval architecture experience.

Security Clearance: Required, Sole UK national.

Work Arrangements: Hybrid working (Glasgow Office/Remote).
