Full-Time Intelligent Document Processing Data Scientist

As a key member of the Strategic Analytics team, you will support the solution definition, build and implementation of IDP/AI opportunities across operations, claims, finance, and underwriting teams.  You will apply the right mix of technologies across the underwriting and claims functions.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver automated document extraction and data enrichment solutions.
• Manipulate data using Python or SQL; develop ad hoc queries to investigate data anomalies and to summarize data for pattern detection.
• Manually label and validate small training data sets.
• Develop round-trip data flows that prepare data for IDP and format the results for analytical purposes.
• Collaborate with experienced modelers to build predictive models and analytic solutions using Python; apply NLP and machine learning techniques.
• Under supervision use AI technologies such as natural language processing to extract business data from unstructured and semi-structured sources (e.g., loss history reports, insurance applications, claim files, application scraping using OCR/ generative AI, etc.).
• Create technical documentation to archive end-to-end processes.
• 3+ years of post-undergraduate experience in data science
• 1+ years of experience with NLP, GenAI, OCR, and/or image analytics
• Ability to work under limited supervision and mentor junior team members
• Strong experience in manipulating, processing and extracting value from datasets
• Experience in data analysis
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Strong critical thinking skills in order to tackle complex data challenges
• Comfortable working in a fast paced and highly collaborative global team
• Experience configuring & establishing automations utilizing IDP software solutions is a huge plus
• The ideal candidate will have experience working in the insurance industry
• Experience with cloud technologies is a plus
• Strong Python or equivalent software
• Solid SQL skills
• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology degree, Data Analytics or equivalent
