The IT Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of Technology and Business initiatives providing leadership in both project execution and technical problem solving.
What you’ll be doing:
- Plan and manage technology projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Support business case creation, determine performance baselines, define project objectives, deliverables, milestones, and timelines in collaboration with sponsor and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage project schedules, resource allocation, and budgets to ensure successful implementation.
- Lead project meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all project-related communications and updates.
- Identify project risks and challenges early, developing mitigation strategies and ensuring issues are addressed promptly.
- Manage change by facilitating smooth transitions, ensuring team members are trained and prepared for new processes or systems.
- After project implementation, monitor the performance of newly optimized processes to ensure they meet business objectives.
- Investigate technology related issues to identify root cause and determine options for resolution with recommendation(s).
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:
- Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects concurrently from initiation through completion, with a strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum). Prince2 certification highly desirable.
- Project Management Software: Proficiency in tools like MS Project, JIRA, Confluence or Asana to track project progress and manage resources.
- Proven ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to gather requirements, resolve conflicts, and ensure project success.
- Ability to resolve specialist problems and identify customer/stakeholder needs and expectations, decide the appropriate action and respond accordingly.
- Highly developed skills in oral and written communication which facilitate effective relationships with management, and internal customers.
- Demonstrated relevant experience in the analysis of service planning and business requirements to identify service improvements.
- Experience in the progressive improvement of corporate applications and databases such as TechnologyOne Property & Rating and Financials, HP Content Manager (TRIM), Health Manager, or Oracle CRM applications would be advantageous
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar or related role within a complex organisation delivering a range of IT and Business projects.
Required Certifications & Qualifications
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field including project management, information systems, business improvement, statistics, economics, or finance.
- Formal training/certification in Project Management methodologies like Prince2, Agile.
