Job Details

We are looking for an IT Release Manager to join our growing team! Your primary responsibility is to work alongside development and operations teams to ensure release scheduling. Focus on smooth change flow through pre-production environments, culminating in successful production deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of Brightspeed's IT release cycles, ensuring smooth deployments and integrations.
  • Oversee the end-to-end release process (planning, scheduling, coordinating, deploying) while minimizing production disruptions.
  • Manage interdependencies to ensure delivery and release integrity.
  • Promote deployments and test activities within development environments according to the Release Schedule and established framework.
  • Create release guidelines for company-wide distribution.
  • Collaborate with Engineering/Architects to assess and adapt release milestones.
  • Collaborate with Engineering & Project Management (PM) to define deployment plan interdependencies.
  • Define environment requirements with PMO, engineering, and QA.
  • Define and enforce entry criteria for Production.
  • Provide full visibility into release readiness, Go/No-Go, and milestone reviews.
  • Collaborate with delivery/release managers from other business units.
  • Establish and maintain documentation on build and release procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a release management plan and calendar aligned with business goals.
  • Monitor, measure, and manage the deployment process (sandbox, QA, DEV, production releases).
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with Brightspeed's IT releases.
  • Provide status updates and communicate release plans to stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during release and deployment processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 8+ years of release management experience, preferably in software development or IT operations
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Experience liaising with offshore teams and managing distributed release processes.
  • Strong understanding of release management best practices, tools, and methodologies
  • Working knowledge of SDLC and DevOps
  • Project management knowledge and techniques
  • Experience with version control, CI/CD, and automation tools
  • Cloud environment experience
  • Application infrastructure and system architecture knowledge
  • Agile Coaching or training experience
  • Data analysis for priority setting and challenge/opportunity identification
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Prioritization, multitasking, and pressure management
  • Documentation, run book, user guide, and training material development
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and implement changes
