Lead Data Scientist
Support stakeholders with data science techniques and build solutions for key business initiatives. Leverage PandaDoc's data to enhance business performance and help stakeholders achieve their goals.
Assist in evolving the business into a data-driven culture and inspire adoption of advanced data science.
Report to the Director of Product & Growth Analytics and work closely with Product, Finance, Design, and Engineering.
Take full ownership of projects from start to finish, including:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business questions.
- Sourcing and preparing data.
- Performing exploratory data analysis.
- Building and fine-tuning models.
- Conducting in-depth analysis.
- Communicating findings and insights through dashboards, visualizations, and presentations, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Use data to solve product questions (customer workflows, churn risk, long-term value).
- Develop statistical models, machine learning algorithms, process automations, and predictive analytics.
- Design experiments, apply statistical techniques (A/B testing, statistical tests, Bayesian experimentation), and assess effectiveness of changes.
- Assist in decision-making using data analysis for actionable recommendations.
- Understand business strategy, align analysis efforts, provide data insights to achieve strategic goals.
- Craft, deliver, and own performance monitoring dashboards to understand current performance and future potential.
- Work with data engineering to productionize and automate data pipeline processes.
Example Projects:
- Research customer segments for better product offering strategies.
- Develop a feature recommendation model for product deployment.
- Build predictive models for account adoption and expansion.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years hands-on experience in analytics with large, complex data sets and machine learning.
- 7+ years experience in cleaning, manipulating, and visualizing data from multiple sources and data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, Oracle, Postgres, etc).
- Focus on creating repeatable, non-complex models.
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, translating data into actionable insights.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, working across all organizational levels.
- Team player with the ability to influence C-suite.
- B.A. or B.S. in relevant fields (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc).
Software/Tools:
- Relational Databases (Postgres, Snowflake)
- R or Python with data science packages (SciKit-Learn, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib)
- Visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
Compensation: $145,000 - $175,000 USD + equity.
