About Stellar Health: Historically, US Healthcare has relied on a fee-for-service reimbursement system where providers are paid based on the quantity of patient visits and procedures, rather than the quality of health outcomes. At Stellar Health, we help primary care providers put patient health first. Our platform supports providers at the point of care, delivering real-time patient information, activating practice staff, and empowering providers with incentives. Using the Stellar App, practices receive a simple checklist of recommended actions. Providers are paid for completed actions, and Payors save money.
About the position:Stellar Health is seeking our first product-focused data science hire. The Lead Data Scientist will report to the VP, Engineering, and partner with key stakeholders. The Lead Data Scientist will collaborate with a product development team focused on measuring, optimizing, automating, and scaling Stellar's incentives strategy to improve healthcare outcomes. Examples include: pricing payouts to maximize colon cancer screenings or launching competitions across provider groups.
What you'll do:
- Understand and prepare high-quality datasets. SQL expertise is a must, along with familiarity with DBT and data warehouses (Snowflake).
- Perform quick analyses to support important decisions. Thrive in ambiguity and decision-making with imperfect visibility.
- Build production-ready statistical and predictive models. Collaborate with engineers to move insights into automated systems impacting providers and patients.
- Lead, collaborate, and communicate well with others. Educate others on best practices.
- Get things done and advance our mission. Understand the urgency to reshape the US healthcare system.
As Lead Data Scientist, you should have:
- 10+ years of data science experience.
- Hands-on experience with data engineering, predictive modeling, and experimentation.
- Senior-level engineering skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Advanced degree (preferred).
Pay: $175,000 - $220,000 with annual performance-based bonus and equity.
