Lead DevOps Engineer will play a critical, hands-on role in modernizing TrustCommerce's developer and deployment ecosystem, working under the direction of the EVP of Technology Operations.
This position is both strategic and technical, focused on implementing modern tooling and processes across source control, project and knowledge management, and CI/CD infrastructure. The new hire will collaborate with senior technical leaders to shape the vision for DevOps transformation.
Ideal candidate has successfully implemented modern DevOps infrastructure and CI/CD workflows at scale, eager to serve as a hands-on expert and strategic partner.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with technical leadership to define the DevOps transformation roadmap.
- Comfortable working in Linux environments, ideally with Debian experience for development and automation.
- Lead Git/GitLab implementation for source control, Jira/Confluence for project/documentation, and Jira Service Management for support.
- Design and deploy robust CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing, code quality, and secure deployment.
- Support migration from legacy systems to modern platforms, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
- Act as a DevOps SME, guiding and mentoring team members.
- Develop and maintain clear system architecture, operational procedures, and tool usage documentation.
- Proactively monitor and optimize system reliability, developer experience, and deployment workflows.
Requirements:
- Proven experience implementing DevOps infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines in production environments.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Git, GitLab CI/CD, Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management.
- Demonstrated success migrating from legacy developer ecosystems to modern DevOps platforms.
- Deep understanding of DevOps principles (infrastructure as code, automated testing, secure development, continuous delivery).
- Proficiency with scripting and automation tools (Python, Bash, Puppet, Terraform, Ansible).
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting or leading DevOps modernization projects in highly regulated industries (e.g., FinTech).
- Strong technical writing skills for documentation, onboarding, and knowledge sharing.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
