CES is seeking a Lead Consultant with a proven track record of managing client engagement in energy markets.
As a Lead Consultant, your primary responsibilities include: identifying and cultivating business opportunities, managing complex projects with a remote team, and positioning our company as a leader in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- 55% Project Management & Delivery
- 25% Mentoring Analyst Team
- 10% Establishing Market Expertise
- 10% Business Development
Project Management:
- Lead customer project delivery through modeling, presentations, writing, and reporting, owning customer requests.
- Track and manage project team performance against established plans with ongoing communication.
Establish Market Expertise:
- Position company as an industry thought leader by engaging with key decision-makers, presenting at events, and showcasing expertise.
- Translate complex information into easily understood reports and presentations.
- Utilize and contribute to CES’s dispatch and financial models for valuing energy projects, advising on enhancements.
Business Development:
- Develop business opportunities with new and existing clients, providing market insights.
- Lead and coordinate RFP responses, ensuring timely and comprehensive submissions.
- Monitor proposals and provide updates and strategic feedback to management.
- Conduct market research, collaborating with the marketing team to improve materials and strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of power industry experience
- Proven track record in project management and client management
- In-depth understanding of US ISO/RTO markets
- In-depth understanding of price forecasting, project revenue, and market consulting
- In-depth understanding of state and utility renewable energy programs
- Excellent verbal, writing, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical/quantitative skills
- Understanding of energy modeling
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with US and remote teams
- Ability to prioritize and problem-solve with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- Techno-commercial energy consulting experience in the US
- In-depth understanding of distribution energy resources (DERs) with renewables
- In-depth understanding in energy storage dispatch modeling
- Knowledge of V2X applications
- Knowledge of green hydrogen market
- Familiarity with RTO/ISO transmission planning
Location: Remote within the US, with preference for the Northeast or MISO region.
Travel: Periodic travel for regulatory meetings, conferences, and company quarterly meetings.
