Contractor Lead Investigator

Conduct impartial, fact-based pre-employment investigations.

Analyze applications, highlighting key information.

Undertake online and telephonic research.

Manage and deliver investigation reports on time.

Utilize experience in conducting in-person and remote candidate interviews.

Perform candidate interviews as part of comprehensive background checks.

Identify information gaps and inconsistencies, strategizing data gathering.

Execute criminal background checks and civil lawsuit verifications.

Prepare organized lists to streamline the process.

Edit and refine reports for accuracy and quality.

Maintain professional communication with clients and stakeholders.

Education: College degree in journalism, criminal justice, political science, pre-law, paralegal, or related field.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in investigative or related roles (journalism, investigative reporting, criminal investigations).

Skills: Strong ability to work independently, handle a varied caseload, conduct in-depth interviews (in-person or remote), exceptional organizational, writing, and communication skills, maintain confidentiality.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Google Docs, Excel, adaptable to new tools and software.

Security Clearance: Must pass security clearance to obtain a PERC or possess one.
