As part of the global Operations & Technology organization, the Data & Analytics group (D&A) focuses on future data strategies, covering the entire analytics life cycle: data engineering, data architecture, data platforms, data analysis, data viz, and data science. The team supports NBCU’s vast portfolio of brands.
The Data & Analytics team seeks a passionate Machine Learning Engineer to build the next generation of analytics solutions and ML pipelines. The candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, data engineers, visualization experts, and technologists.
Ideal candidates are subject matter experts in designing end-to-end data science solutions, balancing business acumen with deep technical knowledge. They are passionate problem solvers who can create scalable, self-healing machine-learning pipelines in the cloud.
Responsibilities include:
- Driving end-to-end MLOps development for scalable production ML pipelines (feature creation, training, inference) for various lines-of-business.
- Establishing best practices for engineering, monitoring, operationalizing, and improving automated ML models and APIs.
- Leading prototype, architecture, and selection of ML/Data Science platforms.
- Partnering closely with business, product owners, and engineering teams to optimize performance, cost, security, and scale.
- Supporting advanced analytics and deep-dive analysis to answer business questions.
- Mentoring engineering and data science peers in building comprehensive tools and standards.
- Strong understanding of applied statistics and machine learning algorithms.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years data science experience with proficiency in SQL and Python.
- 3+ years building production-deployed, well-monitored MLOps solutions.
- Experience in AutoML, NLP, and Deep Learning frameworks.
- Intimate familiarity with ML architectures (e.g., MLflow) and cloud workflows (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Airflow.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree (or equivalent).
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience with media/entertainment and ad sales datasets and platforms (Nielsen, comScore, etc.).
- Ability to report model progress and communicate plans to stakeholders.
- Understanding of Agile principles and CI/CD.
- Comfort with ambiguity and decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
