Full-Time Manager Clearance

Job Responsibilities:

• Legal clearance of feature films, television series, and franchises (pre-production to release).
• Marketing, promotional, editorial, direct-to-video, web series, live stage, location-based entertainment, theme parks, publishing, titles, and social media content clearance.
• In-depth legal analysis of clearance issues.
• Daily liaison with productions and other departments.
• Prioritization and meeting deadlines for multiple projects.
• Trademark, copyright, title, fictitious character/location, and artwork design research.
• Indexing, tracking, and record-keeping of production artwork and materials.
• Analysis and record-keeping of rights issues and acquisitions.
• Review of all artwork stages (stills, storyboards, animatics, locked pictures).
• Advising production on clearance issues.
• Detailed reporting on script drafts.
• Record and file management of all drafts.
• Flagging and tracking concerns regarding Standards and Practices, cultural sensitivity, foul language, and violence.
• Managing advertising, promotions, marketing, and consumer products restrictions.
• Review of credits for continuity, accuracy, and clearance.
• Contacting third-party companies for rights and permissions.
• Licensing stills and clips.
• Reviewing and flagging lyrics and music cues.
• Reviewing intellectual property for licensing.
• Handling requests from outside inquiries.
• Review and analysis of parody and fair use.
• Editorial research and analysis for marketing content and consumer products.
• Title clearance (trademark research).
• Review of marketing materials (trailers, promos, DVD content).
• Facilitating clearance process details to production teams.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of motion picture and/or television experience in clearance duties.
• Animation experience preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Fast-paced, quick turnaround, tight deadline environment.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Google Docs, and Gmail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
