Full-Time Manager, Software Engineering (SAP S/4 ABAP)

NBCUniversal's product and engineering teams drive transformation of key Finance processes across Record-to-Report (RTR), Procure-to-Pay (PTP), Order-to-Cash (OTC), Treasury, Tax and FP&A. In addition, our engineering teams will play a key role in cross-functional workstreams like Transformation Management Office (TMO), master data governance, reporting, security, risk and controls and change management.

Project Keystone will be a multi-year endeavor, driving NBCUniversal’s transformation goal of building a globally standardized, flexible, and data-driven business platform that enables NBCU to make better and faster decisions based on real-time insights.

This Manager, Software Engineering role will provide state-of-the-art engineering and architectural support for the SAP S/4 HANA Financial, Procurement and Subledger system build and deployment including integration with other systems. This role will include managing and mentoring internal and external engineering teams to deliver high-quality S/4 HANA clean core solutions through ABAP and Fiori technical development that meet overall business requirements.

1. Manage onsite and offshore employee and vendor resources engaged in S4 HANA SAP Development (ABAP and Fiori) resources taking accountability for their deliverables and quality adherence to NBCU engineering standards.
2. Work with the team of architects and onsite leads for SAP S4 HANA engineering development strategy, architecture, and governance of application development and engineering related activities for NBCU.
3. Manage teams and work with product and other engineering teams to architect, design and evaluate different technical design options for custom development options keeping in mind SAP's S4 HANA clean core principles and NBCU best practices in mind.
4. Provide estimation for technical work effort when required and ensure high-quality and on-schedule deliverables.
5. Design, develop, track and report out on complex technical project plans in line with overall PMO published build and development timelines.
6. Take a lead role in maintaining and enforcing ABAP naming, coding and development standards, and providing architecture and design guidance to the development team keeping in mind SAP's Clean Core principles utilizing tools like ATC (ABAP Test Cockpit), CCM (Custom Code Management) and others.
7. Work closely with Product Teams, Change Management, Testing and other Engineering teams like BASIS and BTP Integration to identify opportunities for improvements or cost savings.
8. Mentor and train Application development and other engineering team members keeping in mind NBCU’s Operations and Technology goals in mind to foster a high performing engineering team.
9. Drive innovation and exploration in the SAP Engineering space at NBCU.
10. Encourage and support experimentation with new SAP technologies and tools, which involves setting aside dedicated time for team members to explore and prototype solutions as well as organizing internal hackathons or knowledge-sharing sessions to ensure the team stays current and competitive.
