Vaco Staffing is looking for an AR Specialist to work a remote, contract role.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist with a strong background in medical billing and accounts receivable management. The ideal candidate will be proficient in handling medical claims, appeals, denials, and data entry, with a specific knowledge of Medi-Cal (California Medicaid) and anesthesia billing. This position will be remote but reports to our Santa Ana office. The hours would be 7am - 3:30 pm PST
Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Processing: Accurately file and manage medical claims, including electronic and paper submissions. Ensure all claims are processed timely and in accordance with payer requirements.
- Appeals and Denials Management: Review and address denied or rejected claims. Prepare and submit appeals with the necessary documentation and follow up until resolution.
- Data Entry: Perform accurate and efficient data entry for accounts receivable transactions, including payments, adjustments, and account updates.
- Medi-Cal Knowledge: Apply knowledge of Medi-Cal guidelines and billing requirements to ensure compliance and accurate billing.
- Anesthesia Billing (Preferred): Utilize specialized knowledge in anesthesia billing to handle claims and resolve issues related to anesthesia services.
- Customer Service: Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to address billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze accounts receivable reports to monitor aging accounts, cash flow, and other financial metrics.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical accounts receivable, with a strong background in medical billing and collections.
- Knowledge: Proficiency in filing claims, handling appeals and denials, and data entry. Familiarity with Medi-Cal billing is essential. Knowledge of anesthesia billing is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experience with electronic medical billing software or practice management systems.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for accuracy and thoroughness in managing financial records.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, insurance companies, and internal teams.
- Work Hours: Must be available to work within the Pacific Time Zone from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
