Job Details
As Medical Director, consult with Planning, Account, and Creative teams to develop compelling medical strategy and medical content for both digital and print media.
Identify new medical advances and opportunities, utilizing disease state knowledge to drive promotional efforts.
Analyze clinical data, conduct literature searches, attend medical conferences, and perform competitive analyses.
Engage and inform colleagues, healthcare professionals, and clients, including those in medical, legal, and regulatory groups.
Collaborate on the development of medical points of view (POVs) and recommendations with clients.
Ensure medical communications and promotional materials meet and exceed client team objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide the creation of clinically cogent and engaging promotional and KOL materials, ensuring effective use of clinical data to reach strategic brand objectives.
- Assist with medical strategy in pitches and proposals for new business development.
- Consult on medical content of expert speaker communications, KOL engagements, advisory boards, etc.
- Improve medical literacy across contributing agency teams, providing medical understanding on disease states, clinical trials, treatments and competition.
- Guide submissions for client medical/regulatory approval processes, incorporating client and regulatory feedback.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Passion for science, medicine, and innovation, proven ability to communicate medical advances to diverse audiences.
- Lead and execute development of medical strategy and content, including data analysis for complex projects with minimal review.
- Independently incorporate strategic concepts into projects, guiding others to do so.
- Understanding of clinical practice, ability to perform scientific literature searches, interpret complex clinical data into compelling stories.
- Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills, insightful data analysis, accomplished presentation abilities, building client and team relationships.
- Native/fluent English (or relevant language for local markets) required.
- Insightful, problem-solving, solution-oriented mindset, comfortable leading client interactions and defending work/opinions.
- Familiarity with European marketing regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MSci, PhD, MD, or PharmD) in a medical science-related field is required.
- 4/5 years of experience in an agency or pharmaceutical industry supporting scientific communications, medical affairs, or medical education.
