About the Role: Seeking a Medical Operations Officer to join our Onshore Medical Operations department, crucial in ensuring seamless medical coordination for seafarers globally.
- Manage end-to-end medical referrals for seafarers.
- Coordinate medical cases across multiple countries, time zones, and providers.
- Liaise directly with patients, captains, agents, and healthcare providers.
- Document and maintain accurate medical records on Seacare.
- Provide regular status updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinate transportation logistics, including repatriations and medical evacuations.
- Support decision-making on urgent cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Coordination: Handle inpatient and outpatient medical cases, including cost and case monitoring.
- Communication: Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, captains, and internal teams.
- Reporting: Produce daily updates for hospitalized patients and detailed case summaries.
- Compliance: Ensure all case documentation follows GDPR and HIPAA standards.
- Logistics: Organize transportation, visas, and appointments.
- Crisis Management: Act quickly in urgent scenarios.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to make swift, informed decisions.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Comfort working remotely with a global team.
- Proficient in digital tools (case management software, MS Office, email).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Additional languages: French and/or Portuguese.
- Previous experience in the maritime industry, medical assistance, telemedicine, or crewing.
- Familiarity with insurance and cost-control processes.
