Job Details
Design and manage DB2 LUW servers
Build and operate a high-availability DB2 LUW environment, including pureScale.
Use and manage standard DB2 Data Movement Utilities
Create and maintain DB2 database objects
Monitor and optimize SQL performance, especially for Java JDBC applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve database and performance issues
Implement and manage DB2 security features to protect sensitive data.
Support backup and recovery operations and strategies
Collaborate with other teams to support the database lifecycle in development, test, and production environments.
Solid basic Unix/Linux knowledge, especially RHEL Enterprise Linux.
Skilled in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries
Proficiency in backup and restore methodologies
Willingness to participate in on-call duties after onboarding
An Upper-Intermediate level of English
German at native level
WILL BE A PLUS:
- Experience with DB2 LUW versions 10.1, 10.5, and 11.5
- Familiarity with DB2 utilities for maintenance and administration
- Hands-on experience with DB2 in high-availability environments (e.g., pureScale)
- Experience with tools typically found in DB2 environments
- Understanding of DB2 security mechanisms
- Strong communication skills, team-oriented approach, and a proactive mindset
- Willingness to travel occasionally for business trips to clients in Austria and Germany
- Readiness to participate in on-call rotations after completing training
