We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Modeling Specialist to join our team. This specialist will utilize advanced modeling techniques to predict and analyze corrosion and fouling phenomena within refinery environments. This role requires a deep understanding of corrosion and fouling mechanisms specific to refinery operations, material science, and computational modeling to support the development and implementation of effective corrosion/fouling management and prevention strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply computational models to predict corrosion/fouling behavior in refinery equipment and piping.
- Analyze and interpret data from corrosion/fouling experiments, field data, and simulations to inform maintenance and prevention strategies.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on refinery-specific corrosion/fouling issues to internal teams and external clients.
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports, research papers, and presentations on corrosion/fouling modeling findings and recommendations.
- Stay current with advancements in corrosion science, modeling techniques, and industry standards relevant to refinery operations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of refinery corrosion/fouling monitoring and prevention programs.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, methodologies, and technologies to enhance corrosion/fouling prediction and management within refinery settings.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and team members on corrosion/fouling modeling techniques and best practices relevant to the refinery industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in corrosion modeling, preferably within a refinery or similar industrial environment.
- Proficiency in computational modeling software and tools.
- Strong understanding of refinery processes, corrosion/fouling mechanisms, and material science.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications in corrosion engineering (e.g., NACE, AMPP).
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to refinery corrosion (e.g., API, ISO, ASTM).
- Previous experience in the oil & gas industry, specifically within refineries.
Requirements
- Working Conditions / Physical Demands: Work will typically be performed in an office environment using routine office equipment.
- Travel Requirements: Less than 20% - only as needed for training, off-site meetings, etc.
