About the Role: Mozilla is seeking a founding Principal Software Engineer for the New Products team to build a browser-automation stack for AI agents.
Responsibilities:
- Define and communicate the long-term technical roadmap.
- Write high-performance code (Go, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript).
- Design distributed, fault-tolerant services and developer-facing SDKs/APIs.
- Lead a small engineering team, mentor, and conduct code reviews.
- Collaborate with product, design, and developer-relations.
- Translate technical trade-offs into clear language for stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years leading technical teams/large projects.
- Expert-level proficiency in at least two of: Go, Ruby, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Proven track record architecting complex systems.
- Deep understanding of browser internals and automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML workflows.
